PathCon Laboratories provides microbiological laboratory support to industrial hygienists, engineers, safety professionals and others on sampling for microbiological contaminants. PathCon scientists have world-renowned expertise in the detection and identification of bacteria and fungi in building-related settings. PathCon provides suggested sampling protocols and can assist clients in specific sampling strategies to detect the amplification of microorganisms in unique building settings and circumstances. In addition, PathCon routinely analyzes for special pathogens such as Legionella bacteria, the etiological agent of Legionnaires’ disease; Mycobacterium, a suspected source of occupational hypersensitivity pneumonitis; and the agents of fungal infections such as aspergillosis and histoplasmosis. In fact, PathCon is considered a reference laboratory for the detection, enumeration, and identification of these and other organisms in the environment.
