Mycobacterium
PathCon associated Mycobacterium with hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) in metal workers in 1999. Metalworking fluids and hot tub water are two sources found to have high levels of Mycobacterium. Exposure to the bacteria occurs when contaminated fluids are aerosolized. Settings where either metalworking fluids or hot tub water are present may require sampling. PathCon offers materials and analysis for are air and fluid samples for Mycobacterium.
