Water Samples
PathCon can analyze water samples from building and industrial systems for microbial contaminants. One of the primary bacterial concerns from water sources in buildings is Legionella. Building water systems considered to pose the most risk are those with reservoirs of warm water that may aerosolize water. Water sources for sampling include cooling towers, evaporative condensers, potable water heaters and holding tanks, pipes containing stagnant warm water, shower heads, decorative fountains, faucet aerators, nebulizers, humidifiers, mister reservoirs, and whirlpool baths. PathCon can provide 250-milliliter sterile treated bottles for sample collection. If chlorine is used as a biocide, request bottles containing sodium thiosulfate.
