THE SITUATION
PathCon scientists were called in to investigate cases of Legionnaires’ Disease reported by multiple guests who stayed at a specific hotel.
OUR SOLUTION
Our scientists helped the hotel avoid closure when former guests were diagnosed with confirmed cases of Legionnaires’ Disease. PathCon discovered that, out of more than 50 samples taken throughout the hotel, only one was positive—the decorative fountain in the hotel lobby. Once the hotel stated that the problem with the fountain had been corrected, the health department used data from PathCon Laboratories to confirm that the hotel was safe and could remain open for business.
